A quick update!

Hey everyone; a quick update!
First off; please click the email sign-up button on the right side of the page and get signed up for updates to the site
I especially ecourage all user(s) from our channels, as well as possible staff members. Though I have around 90 members signed up for our newsletter, the link here on the site is to let you know of updates & is different from the newsletter.

I have been working on quite a few things.

1. There will be a complete JmIRC guide for users to use since the JmIRC client has become one of the more used clients when using mIRC.
   There are also about six other guides that will be posted.
2. On April 19th, 2012 (4/19/2012) I will be meeting with the people involved in building the actual IRCnewbies.com website. I will hopefully have everything completed with that VERY soon!
3. I have also been working with MindKill (DALnet) who is setting up the bnc/vhost(s) for the staff. Staff.IRCnewbies.com is officially up & will be used by several staff members within the next couple of days. MindKill was also asked to join the IRCnewbies.com team and his role will be announced within the next couple of weeks. His role with the team will be extensive, and he will be apart of the IRCnewbies.com administration. He has done a great deal to help get everyting moving along, so personally I’d like to take a moment to thank him (so thanks MindKill) for everything that you’ve done & continue to do. Without you, a lot of things wouldn’t have been completed.
4. I am also working to add around 10 more staff members to the team and will start to announce everyone as it comes along. I know things have been moving slowly, and I have to let you all know, there is another website that will be launched as apart of the IRCnewbies.com project. It’s going to be a branch off, and another help site, however the help site is directed at one particular area of help.
5. There will be a newsletter released in the next week – this will include everything about the website; especially how long it will take to have the official site designed. However, after speaking with the individuals doing the building, it looks like we’re still going to keep a wordpress ‘look’. I think it’s easier this way for everyone. However, we’ll no longer forward the site to the wordpress, it will be built into the site & be able to be controlled a lot easier. I am hoping to find at least 10 links to other sites. I have also contacted Khaled & Tjerk and upon the official release, we may get our site placed on mIRC.com’s website; hopefully this works out!
6. Lastly, I have contacted the IRC-junkie.org administration about a possible link. This would be great for when we officially launch as it’s one of my favorite websites for IRC news & much more. I will let everyone know when I get a response from the administration of that website. They run a great website, so keep your fingers crossed!

~ New Staff ~

Over the past couple of days, we here at IRCnewbies.com have been working hard to fill the positions that we had vacant. In an effort to better serve our users and community, we have made a couple of additions to our chat division and forum moderation team. Please welcome ABN and Arch to the IRCNewbies team! We look forwarded to working with both of these individuals and starting a couple more projects for these two to take on. Good luck to the both of you!
